New Adobe Reader

It seems that Tuesday is the day for sneaky new releases from Adobe Systems. The giant software publisher released Adobe Reader 9 today, and the biggest news is that the popular PDF reader now includes Flash support. (If you didn't like dealing with PDFs before, imagine them with Flash movies inside!)

Along with support for Flash, Shockwave, and other "rich media content," Adobe Reader 9 is supposed to start faster than previous versions. The software is also now compatible with Acrobat.com, Adobe's online-collaboration system that includes Buzzword, Adobe ConnectNow, and Adobe Share.

In terms of security features, the new version of Adobe Reader provides new digital-signature functionality and support for 256-bit AES encryption.
